Corrections Policy

Texas law changes often, and even careful writers make mistakes. When a guide is wrong or out of date, we want to know, and we fix it in the open.

How to report an error

Email us with:

  • The link to the guide
  • What you believe is wrong or has changed
  • The statute, bill number or official source, if you have one

What happens next

  1. We check the point against the current text of the law and any official source you sent.
  2. If the guide is wrong, we correct it and add a dated note at the end of the guide explaining what changed.
  3. If the law itself changed, we update the guide and its last-checked date, and note the change.
  4. Spelling and formatting fixes that do not change the meaning are made without a note.

We aim to review every report within a few business days. Reports about a law that has just changed are handled first.

What we cannot do

We cannot advise on your own legal situation or review documents in your case. For that, speak with a lawyer licensed in Texas.
